The UFC’s ambitious plan to host a fight card at the White House has already sparked debate, and now criticism is emerging from within the MMA media. Fans are now starting to doubt and question the event, even though many initially saw it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
The idea, reportedly involving a unique setup near the White House grounds, has raised logistical questions about crowd access, security restrictions, and overall execution. “I can’t wait for the UFC White House card to get ‘postponed’ aka cancelled. It’s going to be absolutely hilarious & the biggest waste of time in the history of the sport,” MMA Joey recently wrote on social media.
Dana White: You're obviously not getting a ticket to the White House event, right. It's not happening, but the experience that we're gonna create like right there in the park is gonna be like a one of one experience. pic.twitter.com/tbqsaGUvvm

Despite the criticism, the UFC has built its reputation on delivering spectacle in unconventional settings. From Fight Island to stadium shows, the promotion has often turned doubt into success. However, it is worth noting that even Joe Rogan has warned Dana White regarding security issues at the event.
Speaking to comedian Mark Normand on Joe Rogan Experience, the UFC commentator warned Dana White to be extra careful. He clearly stated that hosting a UFC fight at the White House is a dumb idea that poses significant risks.
“It will be weird, having this high-profile event where everybody is in one place at one time right there,’ he noted, describing the gathering as a potential magnet for trouble,” Rogan said. “It seems like you’re asking [for trouble],” Joe Rogan added.

Joe Rogan: “It’s kind of a gimmick… It’s just going to be a security nightmare. You’re on the White House lawn. Also, they’re fighting outside. What if it rains? What if it’s hot?…… pic.twitter.com/3TSHt3SEdF
Rogan’s comments underscore a growing unease about staging such a high-profile event in a politically sensitive climate. While the UFC has never shied away from bold moves, this situation carries risks that go far beyond the sport itself.
